The Hokies received two big commits from Forward Jarell Eddie and Guard Tyrone Garland.
Jarell Eddie is the highest rated player (according to Rivals.com) that the Hokies have ever brought in. Eddie is ranked 63rd nationally in the Rivals150, which is 26 spots higher than Malcolm Delaney in 2007 and 16 spots higher than Jeff Allen who was also in the 2007 class.

The Hokies also had to out-recruit some big time programs to get Eddie as he had offers from Clemson, Georgia, Kentucky, Miami, Wake Forest, Richmond, and Charlotte to name a few.
Jarell is a player that can really do it all. At 6'7", he can be a force inside but he also has the ballskills to play out on the wing or even at shooting guard for the Hokies. However, it appears that he'll start out his career playing on the wing at the "3" or small forward position for Tech.

Tyrone Garland is the 2nd addition to this class and with the Hokies being a little low on point guards at the moment, he's a very welcomed member of this class. Garland is a fierce competitor on the floor and his tenacity is what caught the attention of some schools along the east coast.
Tyrone boasted offers from Butler, Nebraska, Nevada, Seton Hall, St. Johns, St. Bonaventure, St. Josephs, and Temple.
Garland is about your average point guard in size at 6'1", and 170 pounds, but he plays a lot bigger than what he's listed. Although he's a little hit or miss on his jump shot in some games, Garland averaged over 20 points per game for his AAU team last summer. Combine that with Eddie's 25 points per game and the Hokies are bringing in two kids that know how to shoot the rock.
